OLW Blog Hop!

Welcome to the One Little Word Blog Hop! All participants should be up and running by 8am Pacific time, April 1st. If you get lost along the way, check out the list of blogs at the bottom of the post.

The prompt for March was all about taking action with your word. My word is ACTIVE and I have definitely been taking action! Things have been nothing but ACTIVE around here since my son was born. We are finally setting into a groove and we have found solutions to his belly and sleeping issues. (I love soy formula and the miracle blanket!)

This is what my page looks like while folded and secured with the string. I added a few more things so that both front and back of each pocket is filled.

This is the front unfolded. I really love my "A" collage. I documented my/our family's experience with enrolling our daughter in gym/play class. It is going really well. She loves it. She loves being around other kids, she loves running and climbing, she loves everything about it ~ except when it is time to go! My husband and I take turns going with her, this way she has quality time with the both of us. This time is all about her and she deserves that. She has been such a great big sister and hasn't had any jealousy issues with the baby. Her energy level has increased though, so this is much needed.

I wasn't too worried about filling in the calendar, especially since I made all of this yesterday! ;) I have been active this month with many things that didn't really need to go on the calendar. For instance, I've been blogging and crafting more, which has been good for my sanity. I'm trying to make better eating decisions by buying healthier foods to snack on. Also, I have been taking Audrey to the play gym and that is a work out! Trying to keep up with a toddler is hard! :)

Enlargement #1. I really love the paint pen on the photo idea that Ali did and I plan to keep using it. This is my baby boy ~ 2 months old. He has me going morning, noon, and night. Love that sweet face!

Enlargement #2. This is the first gym we visited. It was geared more towards actual gymnastics. The reasons we didn't go with this gym was that the play time was a fraction of what the other offered and it was more expensive. Audrey saw a boy doing this and went right for it. FEARLESS. Love that girl!

I hope you are keeping up with your One Little Word and that you find inspiration along the hop today! Jill is next on the hop.

Happy Tuesday!

It's been a struggle to find time to scrap but I finally finished a new layout with my baby boy in it. Hooray! I got to ink up some of my Ali Edwards stamps ~ Sweet Baby, Studio AE Feb, Smooch, and Love Always Wins. Check them out at http://techniquetuesday.com. This layout is inspired by one in the latest CK magazine.

Isn't he so sweet?!?
Goodnight!

New Hand Made Goodies by Lisa Leonard

Sorry for my absence as of late. Things are still a struggle with the new baby and his belly issues. Poor lil buddy. It seems that Soy formula and some apple juice daily is helping but he still isn't normal. Everyone is lacking sleep these days which has kept me out of the craft room.

Luckily, I still have some internet time! :) I'm really diggin Lisa's new goodies athttp://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/2011/03/22/new-hand-stamped-fairy-wand-giveaway/#comment-165255. Check out all the awesome stuff she makes! Lovely necklaces, decor and more! I've ordered a few necklaces from her and I absolutely love them.

Have a crafty day!

OLW Blog Hop!

Welcome to the second "One Little Word" Blog Hop! Everyone goes "live" at 8am Pacific Time March 1st. As a refresher, my word for 2011 is ACTIVE. Life has been nothing but ACTIVE the last two months, since the arrival of my son on 1-7-11. We have definitely had some issues and I haven't been able to devote much time to this project until recently. My poor lil boy seems to be a bit colicky and we've switched formulas 3x. I think we are on the right track now with Soy formula and a "moby wrap".

I am excited though, because I am keeping up with my word where progress is concerned. My goal for this year is to be more ACTIVE all around. This means with my kids, with my husband and with myself. I want to get healthier (lose weight) so I can be ACTIVE with my kids at the park or even around the house. Since having my baby, I have lost 25 pounds! I am on the right track! My husband and I have also been trying to go out and do more things (which is nice). And I have been doing little things for myself, like getting a hair cut or doing my make-up more, which has lifted my spirits. It is the simple things really! :)

My photos reflect the items listed above. I enlarged a photo of my daughter running at the park and journaled on it with a Sharpie White Paint Pen from Michaels. With my 9 photos, I have done a lil journaling on the back.

I hope you enjoy your day and the OLW Blog Hop! Visit Lee next at http://linarstudio.typepad.com/embracelife

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

These are layouts for Week 7 "Then and Now". I really love the format and I plan on doing more ~ one for each sibling and one for my parents. As I was rummaging through my old photos, I was happy to find a few that were similar to ones I have taken of Audrey and they were perfect for this project. I think that the pages turned out great. :) The butterflys are a Martha Stewart punch and the houses are a Technique Tuesday stamp.

Happy Crafting!

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

Hello! This layout is for Week 4 of Yesterday and Today, it is a "challenging story". The journaling includes a blog post I wrote in November 2006 when I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I also go on to talk about the journey to "try" again and how it has ultimately led to the birth of my two children. I wasn't sure I could do this weeks project. I wasn't sure I wanted to even try.....but I am glad I did. It still makes me sad to think about what happened but I have had many friends who unfortunately have experienced the same thing and I hope this gives them courage to keep trying.

Thank you for reading.
