OLW Blog Hop!

Welcome to the second "One Little Word" Blog Hop! Everyone goes "live" at 8am Pacific Time March 1st. As a refresher, my word for 2011 is ACTIVE. Life has been nothing but ACTIVE the last two months, since the arrival of my son on 1-7-11. We have definitely had some issues and I haven't been able to devote much time to this project until recently. My poor lil boy seems to be a bit colicky and we've switched formulas 3x. I think we are on the right track now with Soy formula and a "moby wrap".

I am excited though, because I am keeping up with my word where progress is concerned. My goal for this year is to be more ACTIVE all around. This means with my kids, with my husband and with myself. I want to get healthier (lose weight) so I can be ACTIVE with my kids at the park or even around the house. Since having my baby, I have lost 25 pounds! I am on the right track! My husband and I have also been trying to go out and do more things (which is nice). And I have been doing little things for myself, like getting a hair cut or doing my make-up more, which has lifted my spirits. It is the simple things really! :)

My photos reflect the items listed above. I enlarged a photo of my daughter running at the park and journaled on it with a Sharpie White Paint Pen from Michaels. With my 9 photos, I have done a lil journaling on the back.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

These are layouts for Week 7 "Then and Now". I really love the format and I plan on doing more ~ one for each sibling and one for my parents. As I was rummaging through my old photos, I was happy to find a few that were similar to ones I have taken of Audrey and they were perfect for this project. I think that the pages turned out great. :) The butterflys are a Martha Stewart punch and the houses are a Technique Tuesday stamp.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

Hello! This layout is for Week 4 of Yesterday and Today, it is a "challenging story". The journaling includes a blog post I wrote in November 2006 when I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I also go on to talk about the journey to "try" again and how it has ultimately led to the birth of my two children. I wasn't sure I could do this weeks project. I wasn't sure I wanted to even try.....but I am glad I did. It still makes me sad to think about what happened but I have had many friends who unfortunately have experienced the same thing and I hope this gives them courage to keep trying.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

Ok. This is my Intro Page for my book, Yesterday and Today. The photos take you on a journey of me throughout my life. The enlarged photo is MY FAVORITE childhood picture of myself. I am wearing my Return of the Jedi shirt and I have my super long pigtails. My father took this picture of me. I absolutely LOVED the Star Wars movies, it was something that my dad and I bonded over even though I was young. I really like how this page turned out.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

Hi Crafty Folks!

I am totally lovin' this class with Ali. If you ever have the opportunity to take it ~ go for it! :) These pages are for Week 3, 6 Childhood Memories. I LOVE how the layouts turned out. So FUN. I'm going to make another two pages with childhood memories when I can find some more photos. Talking to my sisters and getting some of these stories down was super fun and it made me think of so many more that I'd like to document.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

I've been productive today! Here is a project for Week 6 of "Yesterday and Today", called "Unexpected Life". It is the story of my hubby and I, how we met and how our relationship has evolved. This class is all about the story. Usually I hate writing but I have really enjoyed the process so far! I had an excellent time writing this....it brought back so many memories.

Yesterday and Today ~ Ali Edwards

Howdy! I'm a bit behind in the "Yesterday and Today" class but I am quickly catching up! This is Week 5's project, a layout (6x12) without photos. It is 25 random things you should know about me. I've never done a layout without a photo...I actually like how it ended up and I can see myself using this idea in the future.

One Little Word ~ January

This is some of my journaling for January~ printed on white cardstock, edge punched, and adhered to polka dot paper with a few flowers to perk it up.


Today is the start of February and our assignment is to explore our words through photos, so the next post will have lots of photos relating to my word, ACTIVE.
