OLW Blog Hop!

Hello May! I can't believe how the time is flying this year. It's time for another One Little Word Blog Hop! The hop goes live 8am Pacific Time and the full list is at the bottom of this post. If you are wondering what I'm talking about, check out all the fuss here. Thanks to Margie for arranging the Hop!

I hope you are still keeping your word in your mind and heart. As a refresher, my word is ACTIVE. This month...well, this year, has been nothing but ACTIVE. So ACTIVE, I didn't get to finish my page! :) Since I filled the space that was intended for half our prompt this month, I will be making an 8 1/2 by 11 page. I have the work in progress below. I printed the prompt in white cardstock and used Distress Aged Mahogony to ink it up. The picture is one of the only recent ones of myself and it is one of my favorites. It was taken on my Anniversary, with my favorite shades, and my favorite hair do.

The letter to myself will be about how I am currently uncomfortable in my body and really hate to be in pictures....and my hopes for the future will be that I stay with my ACTIVE plan and continue to lose weight so I can live a better life with my family. I've always had to be mindful of my weight, it's in my genes to be overweight. I've slowly been putting on weight and having my second baby has pushed me way too far out of my comfort zone.

I hope you all are doing well and feel free to check out my past posts by clicking on the left on any OLW title. Thanks for stopping by! Jen is up next at www.byjen.com.

Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday

Seriously. Where is the time going? I can't believe it is Wednesday already and it is almost May! This year is turning into a blur for me. I need it to slow down a little! (yeah, like that is gonna happen!)

Here we meet again, through the lovely Julia over at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/. Weekly inspiration and spy time! Thanks to all who visited me last week! I love getting comments, so please drop me a line if you have the time. I tried to visit as many blogs as I could and comment when I could (no children screaming). :)

This week I am working on finishing some layouts from classes at CKC. They are a little cookie cutter but I'm going to add some flair to them before they are all done. On my first desk is my daughter's first b-day! (yes, I am a few b-days behind)

On my second desk are a few layouts with my baby boy and one awaiting pics of my daughter. Isn't he just handsome!

I broke out my T!m Holtz stuff this weekend and made a lil something for my daughter's room. This small shadow box frame is from IKEA (only $5)! I started with white cardstock. I put some Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, and Shattered Shutters) on my craft mat and spritzed with water, then rubbed my paper on the inky goodness. I used my ink blending tool to add some color to the white areas. Then I stamped my Suzi Blu "You are loved" stamp by Unity Stamp Co. on a separate piece of white cardstock and I cut her and the sentiment out. Finished her up with a little stickle action. Then I ran my white rose ribbon over my Distress Ink pads for a similar look to the background. When she saw this, she said "oooooo WOW" and tried to help hang it on her wall. :)

This is the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day, using nestabilities die and some simple $1 stamps.

Here is the gothic birthday card I made for my niece. I love the stampotique images, they are super awesome!

Thank you for stopping by! Don't forget to get your snoop on, I mean inspiration on over at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/.

Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! :D FAB. I look forward to Wednesday since that means the work week for the hubby is half over and it's "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday"! Every week, Julia over at Stamping Ground, has the option to link up your blog and share your work space. It is super fun to get a peek into the world of other crafty folks...you should check it out.

This weekend I started reorganizing my space. I got a little done but with CKC Mesa, Saturday was a wash. But I did get to shop! LOL. And what did I get you ask? Well of course more PAPER. hahahahaha Also some lil embellishments and some Tim Holtz accessories for the newVagabond. I have to open this bad boy this weekend. :) While I do have a Cricut, I'm thinking of selling it since I think the Vagabond suits me better ~ too much thinking with the Cricut, plus I like the idea of cutting thicker substances.

So I moved my shelves to a different wall so I could put both of my work tables/desks together to create one super long work space. Oh yes. ;) I also put most of my ribbon back in it's home, so take a gander at that! The art work on the wall is from ORA, she is amazing. I have more work I need to hang of hers.

Desk space #1, working on some cards. I noticed I'm doing a lot more cards these days.

Close up, my mom's b-day card and mothers day card finished. The beginning of a gothic b-day card for my niece.

Desk #2. This is where the stuff is I need to sort and put away, also future projects waiting for me!

And for fun, here is my daughter's workdesk. She likes to create with me. She is very into Toy Story and who doesn't love to finger paint!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a crafty day!

Stuff for the Grandparents...

I'm still recovering from CKC this weekend but here are a few things I made for my parents and shipped out last week. A 12 x 12 layout of me and baby Dom the day after he was born. All the stamps are from Technique Tuesday (letters, banner, circles), check them out at techniquetuesday.com. All the papers are My Minds Eye, Bella Bella. The lil photo book is binded using mystory. I embossed it with my cuttlebug and used some Technique Tuesday stamps (ofcourse) hahaha.

Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday

Oh Wednesday, I'm glad you are here, since that means Friday is just around the corner. Since I've received many comments on my ribbon stash on my desk, I thought I'd share a picture of the rest of the ribbon stash. HEEEHEEE. I do have a lot. The ribbon on my desk is still there, awaiting me to finish my December Daily book. The end of my pregnancy derailed that project and I've had so many other things I've wanted to make, that it is on the back burner at this point.

I do confess that my weakness is ribbon and pattern paper...I have serious issues resisting it! :) There is a store in AZ called Scrapbook ETC and it has a whole room full of paper and an entire wall dedicated to ribbon. When I walked in there, I about died and went to heaven. I could spend a fortune there. You definitely have to have a plan when you go there or else the receipt could get quite large.

So here is my messy messy area. I will be cleaning it and reorganizing it in the coming weeks ~ look for a makeover! :)

Take care and enjoy the day. Be sure to check out other creative spaces at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/.

Cards Anyone?

I enjoy looking at many crafty card making blogs and stare in wonder at these amazing works of art that these people call cards. I have to admit...I'm not really a card maker BUT I have been making a few lately. My style with cards is more of a clean and simple approach, though I do enjoy layering papers and putting a bit of ribbon on for good measure. (because let's face it, my two addictions are pretty papers and ribbon) For card sentiments, my favorite stamps are from Technique Tuesday and Unity Stamp company. Here are a few cards I've made lately...

The stamps are from the March Studio AE "Cakes and Candles" from Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday. The papers are Basic Grey. The diamond die cut is a "nestabilities" from Spell binders.

The stamp is from the "Love" set by Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday. The papers are Basic Grey. The scallop circle die cut is a "nestabilities" from Spell binders.

The stamp is "Ribbit" and the ink "Peridot" both from Technique Tuesday on a mini 3 x 3 card.

Stamp is from the mini set "A million and one" by Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday. The papers are Basic Grey. Butterfly punch by Martha Stewart.

Check out all these stamps at techniquetuesday.com! Thanks for stopping by!

Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday

It's what? WEDNESDAY??? Wow. Where did the week go! Oh yes, I know ~ the whole house is sick again, that's where it went. Everyone is telling me this is normal but that doesn't make it any easier. My lil girl got sick again from play school and now the whole house is sick, including the poor boy. I'm not sure what to do, stick it out with play school or cancel it for a few months til my boy can be better and stay better.

Anyway....I somehow have been crafting. Finishing up some projects for the grandparents and some cards including birthdays, thank you, and thinking of you. Here is my desk today ~ still messy and ultra crafty.

Check out http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ for more desk inspiration.
Thanks for checking it out!
